NEXA Retrofit 2 Switch
The NEXA Retrofit 2 Switch is a two-channel WiFi smart switch module that installs behind an existing switchboard in approximately 15 minutes, adding app control, voice control, scheduling, and automation to two independent electrical loads — without replacing switch plates, rewiring, or any civil work. It is the entry point into the NEXA range for homes or rooms with exactly two loads (e.g. two lights, or a light and a ceiling fan) on one board. Like every NEXA variant, it runs entirely on Beakn's own in-house platform — not Tuya or any white-label system — and includes all 20 app features free with no subscription.

What is needed
•An existing switchboard with two switch positions
•A neutral wire present at the switchboard (required; most Indian switchboards already have one — the electrician confirms during install)
•A stable WiFi connection at the switchboard location
•A licensed electrician (Beakn offers free installation in 8 cities)
How it installs
1.Electrician opens the existing switchboard cover — no drilling, plastering, or new conduit work.
2.The 23mm NEXA 2 Switch module is placed behind the existing board.
3.Wiring is connected: Line in, Neutral, and two Load outputs (one per channel), plus the existing physical switch terminals for 2-way switching.
4.The board cover is closed — existing switch plates remain unchanged and continue to work normally.
5.Module is powered up, paired to the Beakn app over WiFi, and configured.
6.Total time: approximately 15 minutes.
Wiring notes
•Neutral wire is mandatory — there is no no-neutral mode for any NEXA variant.
•2-way switching is supported — both channels can be wired for 2-way (two physical switches controlling the same load), which is common in bedrooms and hallways with switches at both ends.
•Physical wall switches continue to work after installation; app and voice control are added on top — neither replaces the other.
•The isolated SMPS power supply means the module draws less than 0.8W at standby.

FAQ
Does the NEXA 2 Switch need a neutral wire?
Yes. A neutral wire must be present at the switchboard for all NEXA variants, including the 2 Switch. Most Indian switchboards already have one. The electrician confirms availability during the 15-minute installation. If no neutral is present, the NEXA range is not compatible.
Can I still use my physical wall switches after installing the NEXA 2 Switch?
Yes. The physical switches continue to work exactly as before. App control, voice control, and scheduling are added on top. You can use whichever method you prefer at any time.
Does it work if my internet goes down?
Yes. Wall switches work normally at all times. Schedules and auto-off timers run locally on the module and fire without internet. Local app control works over your home WiFi. Only remote access from outside your home requires an internet connection.
Can the NEXA 2 Switch control a ceiling fan's speed?
